Clinical Medicine Programme at IIHAS

The Clinical Medicine programme offered at Isimila Institute of Health and Allied Sciences (IIHAS) is designed to provide students with comprehensive, practical knowledge and skills essential for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of diseases. Clinical Medicine focuses on the direct care of patients, distinguishing it from other medical science fields that emphasize theoretical foundations.

This programme equips students with the competencies required to carry out the responsibilities of a clinician, including patient assessment, clinical decision-making, and delivering appropriate healthcare interventions. A strong emphasis is placed on understanding patients’ problems through direct examination, which forms the cornerstone of effective diagnosis and treatment.

The course follows the NACTE-approved curriculum and is structured over three academic years, covering NTA Levels 4, 5, and 6. Each level is completed within one academic year, which is divided into two semesters. Upon successful completion, graduates are prepared to contribute effectively to the health sector, providing essential medical services within their communities.
